TOP THREE REASONS WHY ARCHENERGY

176+ years of combined experience

We are a group of highly skilled specialists (five Ph.D. and 11 master's degree in building science) dedicated to promoting energy efficiency in the building industry.

state-of-the-art tools

To achieve the best results, we use eQUEST, THERM, WUFI PASSIVE, WUFI PRO, ENERGY+, and the LCCA Tools. However, we enhance each model further by writing our own codes and scripts.

$35-45 per hour rate and no change orders

With us, you can predict your budget precisely, as we avoid change orders. Yes, we'll revise unlimited times until model reaches it's highest performance.

Kenny Stutes

Trust us to handle all your energy modeling needs, ensuring compliance and optimizing efficiency for a greener future.

We mastered the understanding of energy modeling through designing 1,000+ projects. We're using  Energy Model Simulation Guidelines for typical assumptions for accurate normative compliance and we're constantly having feedbacks from the site to validate constructibility,  cost effectiveness, energy performance, durability

WHAT IS ENERGY MODELING?

Energy modeling is a pre-construction, whole-building assessment of energy efficiency. We believe Energy Modeling is crucial for implementing the appropriate cost-saving energy conservation measures within a project, helping reduce budget costs.

Energy modeling during the early stages of design helps to examine a variety of design variables and alternative approaches that would otherwise have gone unnoticed. As soon as preliminary plans for your project are completed, we may begin energy modeling. That is, you can contact us as soon as the fundamental floor plans, dimensions, elevations, and doors and windows have been designed.

Profits of hundreds of thousands of dollars can be gained by using Energy Modeling to choose the most cost-effective and high-performance component packages. We help Developers, Architects, Builders, MEP Engineers, and Sustainability Consultants. Architects and engineers can pick the best position of the building for the sun to save energy on cooling. They can evaluate whether or not using a highly reflective window is a waste of money when a moderately reflective window would suffice. The owner can comprehend the difference between installing a 20,000-watt or 50,000-watt solar energy system, calculate how long it will take to pay for it, and decide which system is ideal. Energy models assist owners and designers in determining the appropriate color for the roof–if spray foam or fiberglass insulation is preferable–and whether additional insulation might reduce the cooling capacity required for air conditioning, resulting in reduced equipment costs.

Developers may Invest with confidence while cutting construction costs to fulfill energy standards and tenant demands.

To summarize, you simply gain profit by lowering construction costs or investment, while also lowering carbon emissions.

WHY ENERGY MODELING?

The services offered by Archenergy are aimed at making energy modeling affordable for all types of buildings. Energy simulation, often known as modeling, is one of the most powerful building design techniques ever developed. It is utilized to comply with energy codes, earn LEED points, and report tax credits, but it is most effective when applied strategically to improve building performanceThis is achieved by modeling all building components and conditions to determine where the greatest energy savings may be found. The model examines the performance of the "whole-building."

1. jurisdiction green incentive programs

Gain additional height, floor area, or a faster building permit in exchange for meeting specific green building goals

2. energy lifecycle cost analysis

Select the most cost-effective energy-using system from a variety of options and save money on investment.

3. rebates

Get whole-building design (modeled performance) incentives for efficient building equipment or performance.

Green Programs Tips: Criteria and Modeling Standards

LEED BD+C (Multifamily)

Criteria: Certified - EA: Minium Energy Performance -> Option #1. Whole Building Energy Simulation. Demonstrate an improvement of 5% for new construction in the proposed building performance rating compared with the baseline building performance..

Modeling Standard: ASHRAE 90.1 2010, Appendix G

Built Green (Multifamily)

Criteria: 3-Star Requirement - Building modeled to have 10% better performance than the WSEC cycle under which the project is permitted

4-Star Requirement - Building modeled to have 20% better performance than the WSEC cycle under which the project is permitted

5-Star Requirement - Building modeled to have 30% better performance than the WSEC cycle under which the project is permitted

Modeling Standard: Based on benchmark of WSEC 2015 - Which is based off of ASHARE 90.1, Appendix G

NGBS (Multifamily)

Criteria: Mandatory Requirement - 701.1 Minimum Energy Efficiency -> 702 Performance Path: Energy Efficiency Features are implemented to achieve energy cost or source energy performance that meets the ICC IECC. Documented software w/ ICC IECC Section C407.2 through C407.5.

Green Globes (NC)

Criteria: 3.3.1.1 Assessing Energy Performance -> Path B: ASHRAE 90.1-2010, Appendix G: Input the energy performance as the percentage value compared to the reference base building

Modeling Standard: ASHRAE 90.1 2010, Appendix G

ENERGYSTAR (MFNC)

Criteria: ASHRAE Path: ASHRAE 90.1-2016, Appendix G: Input the energy performance as the percentage value compared to the reference base building.

Modeling Standard: ASHRAE 90.1 2016, Appendix G +15%
